The typical cuisine of Veneto is characterized by genuine and local ingredients: fresh fruits and vegetables from the Pianura Padana, mountain cheeses from the Dolomites and the Asiago Plateau, fish from the Adriatic Sea, game from the Euganean and Berici Hills, and then the liqueurs, schnapps and delicious wines. The regional wine and food variety is breathtaking. The products of greatest interest are classified as PAT (Prodotti Agroalimentari Tradizionali, that is traditional food products), while wines are classified as DOC (Di Origine Controllata – of controlled origin) or as DOCG (Di Origine Controllata e Garantita – of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin). PAT products include farmed meat, aquaculture fish, baked goods, plants at their natural state. Some examples? The Tortellini of Valeggio sul Mincio, the Pandoro of Verona, the Pandoli of Schio, the Fugassa Veneta, the Carfogn, the Galani and the Crostoli of Venezia... just to mention a few of the fresh pastas and sweets!

As for the wines, we'd like to mention the Piave, the Soave Superiore, the Prosecco of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, the Raboso, the Montello and Colli Asolani... the list goes on and on and includes white, red, rose', sparkling, and sweet wines. These treasures can be appreciated in special wine tours of the cellars that produce them, as part of the “Cantine Aperte” event. There are also taverns, inns, farmhouses, restaurants, and mountain inns that offer a wide selection of traditional dishes throughout the year. There are plenty of opportunities to express your desire to cook!
